The Frame[v]work project aims at harmonising the volunteer exchange procedure of the main IVS networks, in order to improve the quality of their projects (especially the short-term ones, aka "workcamps") and to find solutions to the so-called "volunteers drain" (the decreasing number of participants in projects). In order to design effective measures, it is necessary to bring together representatives from all the big networks, and this is exactly the aim of this ambitious initiative. The Kick-off Meeting allowed participants to share information, ideas and inputs on how to tackle the current challenges related to volunteer exhcange and project quality. Moreover, the Steering Team defined the tasks for the following labs, which will be implemented along 2020 in 4 continentes. The project will conclude with an evaluation meeting to finalise the common and updated guidelines for volunteer exchange, and with a final training course in 2021, aimed at spreading the new ideas among the IVS movement.
