“Youth Preventing Violent Extremism” was a project coordinated by CCIVS in the framework of “Prevention of Violent Extremism through Youth Empowerment in Jordan, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia”, a two-year programme launched by UNESCO and UNOCT in April 2018.
The project took place on July 2018 in 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Morocco and was targeted to 12 young people coming from Jordan, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia, who had the chance to interact with several local and international volunteers in 2 World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) workcamp. WHV camps offers young people the opportunity to volunteer in UNESCO world heritage site, a unique chance to discover a local culture and to provide a meaningful contribution to the local community. Besides this experience, the 12 participants participated in PVE workshops and non-formal educaton activities, which had the objective to empower them, broaden their horizons and motivate them to act as multipliers in their organisations and local communities.
