Peer education as a youth work tool
Location: Bacau, Romania
Dates: 15 - 22 March 2013
Participants: 20 (Moldavia, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Georgia)
Promoter: STEP
Financed by the European Commission, Youth in Action Programme, Action 3.1
Trainers: Razvan Bondalici (Romania), Mauro Carta
20 Participants gathered one week in Bacau, Romania, to gain skills in the field of peer education, in order to design and develop new projects in the youth sector. The training course consisted in two parts: in the first 4-day block participants acquired skills and knowledge on peer education, SDL (Self Directed Learning), communication, assertiveness, problem solving and self assessment. After a pleasant day-trip, in the last two working days they had the chance to propose their own ideas in the form of workshop sessions, media production and project drafts for future follow-up. The results were high-quality: a nice promotional video, a blog with an article, interviews, a survey and even a song related to the event!
